Pietro Ghizzardi, a lilla – quatro pietre in mortalate

Untitled design (15)

a lilla is a lamentation and an ode in memory of the loved little dog, remembered with tender affection in her manifestations of dog love and in the existential sharing moments, which prompt Pietro Ghizzardi to a naive as well as touching reflection about life and death, about the presence of the dead in our life, about the distance and the torment that the separation from departed relatives and friends causes one day after the other up to the encounter with the mystery of  passing away.

Pietro Ghizzardi observes the life around him, takes notes of grief and loss and creates with it a very personal Spoon River where he cuts out a space not secondary to the ecological claims against a civilization more and more oriented to cannibalize nature.

The little book, dedicated to Cesare Zavattini, presents itself as more “experimental” than the previous Mi richordo anchora: Ghizzardi’s spelling registers a powerful strengthening of the starting consonants to give more expressive emphasis to the words. Morphology is always the same – dismantled, disordered, full of hyper-italianized and hypercorrect terms.
