Pietro Ghizzardi on Raw Vision

adminNews

The forthcoming summer begins with very good news for the House Museum Pietro Ghizzardi: the new issue of Raw Vision, the most influential international Outsider Art magazine, contains a long article, written by Giulia Morelli, House Museum’s curator, which offers a thorough overview on Pietro Ghizzardi’s production and biography.

The fact that “the Rolling Stone of Outsider Art”, as the historic more than 30-year-old British magazine is called, decided to dedicate some space to the artist confirms once again the appreciation and recognition he is held in on an internation level. We are honoured that Pietro Ghizzardi, “one of Italy’s classic outsider artists”, is object of attention and disclosure on a global scale and the fact that the publication of this issue – which also coincides with the closing on 6th June of “PHOTO | BRUT” at American Folk Art Museum in New York, where 6 collages by Ghizzardi were an show – comes after a complex and dramatic year like 2020, gives us new hope and pushes us to continue our work of enhancing Ghizzardi’s work recognition.

This further stage in the author’s bibliography also points out the relevance of his artworks cataloguing action, which now configures as essential to the paintings’ historicization and valorisation for the collectors as much as for the Historical Archive, particularly in view of the publication of the official general catalogue, which, if the pandemic will allow it, we would like to publish in the autumn of 2022, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the foundation of the House Museum Pietro Ghizzardi. The issue n° 107 of Raw Vision – which also features Charles Wince, Kohler, Dubuffet, Madge Gill, Barbus Muller e Rocha – is available for sale on the magazine’s website at this link.
